Francesca Pradella is a freelance photographer, videographer and storyteller based in Italy but available worldwide.

About the reason behind the name, 10photography:

“ I was not a fan of putting my name under my photos because I felt it might somehow influence the viewer. So I picked a number, because that’s the only universal language we share as human beings. No need to translate. 10 because I was born on April 10th; it is an ” happy number ” ( math definition); it’s the atomic number of Neon and I love that type of light; Pitagora thought it was the perfect number; in italian schools, it was the best grade You could get; it’s the number of spacetime dimensions in some superstring theories. “

How everything started:

” The first book I got in my life was an animal encyclopedia. My grandfather Enrico , who was a vet, gave it to me when I was a child. I fell in love with those beautiful illustrations and I remember spending days to learn their latin names.  And I grew up reading Jack London, Rudyard Kipling, Konrad Lorenz . “

Wildlife photography as her biggest passion, she established herself in her country by shooting weddings , newborns and family portraits.

She’s also a published photographer for national and international press,  including 20 cover photos and several reportages for Profilo Donna Magazine and one publication on ELLE Brides .

She graduated in Professional Photography at the NYIP, New York.

As a credited  photographer for the International Venice Film Festival, Rome CineFest, Cannes Film Festival, London BFI and Tribeca Film Festival NY, she attends red carpets and events shooting celebrities too.

” I love reportage. I cannot interfere. But when it comes to editing, sometimes my mind goes back to my childhood, when drawing was my biggest love and the pictures get into a mixed-media direction,  with an almost- painting vibe .”

Traveling the world, she dreams about the perfect picture:

” … the one I hope doesn’t exist, so I can keep going on with my camera,  until my bones allow me to do so “.

About the trademark in her photography, she has no doubt :

“ Empathy is the perfect lens. The only one truly needed in your camera bag.”
