some thoughts and tips on how to recycle electronic items

Yesterday it was #earthday2020 and I am taking a break from my usual travel posts because now more than ever it is important to face the environment talk.
As far as I try to keep my plastic consumption down, I still can’t find many items ( especially photography-related ) with plastic-free packages. I’ve made some lifestyle changes towards a more “go-green” direction but the road ahead is still long. I rarely eat meat or fish now and I pay attention to the products I purchase: if their disposable process is not clear, I try to avoid them. I am happy to hear that the awareness is growing and that many are understanding that.
Soon that we expect it, it won’t be one of different options, but the ONLY one.
Cameras are made with materials that should be re-used in other products so, if You need to throw away Your broken DSLR, mirrorless or any electronic device, remember to ask Your municipality about the services they offer. My advice is always to try to sell it on @ebay since many components are on high demand ( such as gold, copper, platinum ). Also, some brands will take them back for free. I am starting to online rate what I buy also in terms of the way items are sent and there’s still a list of waste going on. If we take small steps and embrace this need to slow down the market a little bit, we could do so much for Our planet. Anyway, I made the decision that Earth Day is every day long time ago. And You? What are You doing to help Your home? Suggestions are well accepted.
